Chlorphenesin is diol with a 4-chlorophenyl group, a fine white to pale-cream-colored crystal with a slightly phenolic odor and bitter taste. The high-purity chlorphenesin is ideal for blending with existing preservation systems to enhance their performance. Chlorphenesin also is known as CHP in shorter form, is chemically a substituted chlorophenol group, synthetic preservative. It is a broad spectrum, solid state, water-soluble antimicrobial substance.

Applications:
In cosmetics, it is used as a preservative because of its anti-fungal, anti-bacterial properties. As a preservative, it prevents a variety of products from experiencing these problems, such as viscosity changes, PH changes, demulsification problems, visible microbial growth, color changes, and unpleasant odor production. In addition to being used to treat fungal nail problems, the ingredient is most commonly used in facial moisturizers, anti-aging extracts, sunblocks, foundation, eye creams, cleansers, mascara and concealer.
In medicine, Chlorphenesin related preparations are antigen-related immunosuppressants that inhibit ige mediated histamine release. Chlorphenyl ether is also an antifungal drug, which is suitable for antifungal, bacterial, vaginal mold, trichomonas disease, drug dosage forms.
